Job summary

Ertech in Barrow Island is seeking an experienced HSE Advisor to support long-term Civil and Electrical Construction scopes. You will lead HSE performance across projects, manage incidents, and ensure compliance with systems and legislation across operations.

The role requires 7+ years in Oil & Gas, a degree in Science/Health/Safety & Environment, and current First Aid, CPR, and Gas Test Atmosphere certifications.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience within the Oil & Gas industry.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Science, Health, Safety & Environment or related discipline.
• First Aid within 3 years.
• CPR within 1 year.
• Gas Test Atmosphere within 3 years.
• Proficient in work area planning, scheduling, and program management.
• Accredited Internal Lead Auditor across Integrated Management Systems (OHS, Quality, Environment).
• Ability to obtain and maintain a police clearance.
• Must hold valid Australian Working Rights.

• Manage incidents and injuries, including reporting, corrective actions, return to work programs and workers compensation.
• Ensure compliance with HSE systems, procedures and legislative requirements.

• Communicate issues to the Project Manager, Operations Manager and HSEQ Manager where relevant and propose solutions.
• Build strong client relationships and respond proactively to client safety needs.
• Actively participate in safety leadership and operational meetings.

Barrow Island is located around 60 kilometres from the mainland and approximately 139 kilometres west of the Port of Dampier. It’s also home to Chevron’s Gorgon Project and WA Oil operations. It is the largest oil field discovered in Western Australia. Ertech has been a major service provider to Chevron Australia’s Gorgon Project for over 10 years. Barrow Island provides excellent on-site accommodation including meal services, as well as gym facilities (mixed and separate gyms available for men & women with a variety of fitness classes to choose from), sporting facilities including a football field, golf simulator, bike hire, 2 swimming pools, basketball court, tennis court and a cricket pitch!

About The Role

We are currently recruiting for an experienced HSE Advisor to join our Resources team supporting the long-term Civil and Electrical Construction scopes at Barrow Island.

Other Key Responsibilities Include, But Not Limited To

• Lead HSE performance across projects, including hazard identification, risk control and achievement of HSE objectives
• Manage incidents and injuries, including reporting, corrective actions, return to work programs and workers compensation
• Ensure compliance with HSE systems, procedures and legislative requirements
• Prepare HSE reports and lead indicators for senior management review Communicate issues to the Project Manager, Operations Manager and HSEQ Manager where relevant and proposes solutions.
• Build strong client relationships and respond proactively to client safety needs
• Actively participate in safety leadership and operational meetings.

To be successful, you will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:

• 7+ years of experience within the Oil & Gas industry, with a comprehensive understanding of industry standards, legislation, and codes of practice.
• Tertiary qualification in Science, Health, Safety & Environment or a related discipline (Bachelor’s or Master’s degree preferred).
• First Aid within 3 years
• CPR within 1 year
• Gas Test Atmosphere within 3 years
• Proficient in work area planning, scheduling, and program management.
• Highly developed interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.
• Accredited Internal and Lead Auditor across Integrated Management Systems, including OHS, Quality, and Environment.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a police clearance.
• MUST hold valid Australian Working Rights.
