Job summary

The Queensland Government is seeking an experienced HR professional to provide internal consultancy to line management and staff at the centre in Townsville. You will oversee rostering, ensure compliance with agency standards and legislation, and contribute to recruitment and retention activities.

In this role you will advise on staff resourcing models, support workforce strategy initiatives, and help deliver HR plans aligned with QCS objectives while building capability across the HR team.

Qualifications

• Oversee rostering processes to ensure compliance with agency standards and legislative provisions.
• Assist recruitment and retention activities to meet staffing needs.
• Advise on staff resourcing models for the correctional centre.
• Contribute to workforce support and strategy initiatives and programs.

Responsibilities

• Provide internal HR consultancy to line management and staff, ensuring day to day needs are met for a broad range of HR services and advice.
• Oversee rostering coordination within the centre and ensure rostering practices comply with standards and legislation.
• Actively contribute to recruitment and retention activities to assist in staffing the centre.
• Provide advice on staff resourcing models to ensure effective use of allocated funds.
• Support development and implementation of workforce support and strategy initiatives and programs.
• Oversee general HR administrative support including annual leave planner, entitlements, and payroll enquiries.
• Assist roster officer with roster estimates and costs.
• Develop HR plans aligned with HR strategic objectives for QCS.
• Build HR capability by coordinating key HR initiatives and supporting management to deliver outcomes.
• Ensure timely, accurate roster coding and data integrity across rostering system.
• Review HR reporting and provide recommendations to senior management.
• Contribute to building professional capability of the HR team.
