Job summary

Kangaroo Bus Lines is seeking an HR Generalist to join our Human Resources team on a permanent, full-time basis in Queensland. The role covers end-to-end HR and recruitment, onboarding, offboarding, documentation and HR system administration.

You will support employees and managers across the lifecycle, maintain records, and contribute to process improvements in a long-standing, family-owned business guided by our values of People, Pride, Passion.

Qualifications

• Experience as an HR Generalist or across the employee lifecycle.
• Qualifications in Human Resources or a related field preferred.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate end-to-end recruitment, including job ads, screening, interviews and checks.
• Oversee onboarding, induction, and offboarding processes and HR system guidance.
• Prepare employment documents such as letters of offer, contracts, variations and probation letters.
• Provide frontline HR support via inboxes and assist managers with HR matters.
• Maintain HR records and databases, update employee details and conditions.
• Support probation reviews, performance management and employee relations.

THE ROLE

We have an exciting opportunity for an HR Generalist to join our Human Resources team on a permanent, full-time basis. This role will provide end-to-end HR and recruitment support across the employee lifecycle, while managing day-to-day HR administration and supporting employees and managers across the business.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Coordinating end-to-end recruitment activities, including job advertising, applicant screening, interviews and pre-employment checks.
• Managing onboarding, induction and offboarding processes, including guiding employees through HR systems and portals.
• Preparing employment documentation, including letters of offer, contracts, variations and probation letters.
• Providing first-line HR support by managing the HR inbox, responding to employee queries and assisting managers with HR matters.
• Maintaining HR systems, employee records and databases, including changes to employee details and employment conditions.
• Managing general HR administration, reporting, data entry and record keeping.
• Supporting probation reviews, performance management and employee relations processes.
• Contributing to HR projects and the continuous improvement of HR processes, systems and procedures.

ABOUT YOU

• Experience in a generalist HR role, with an understanding of HR processes and the employee lifecycle.
• Qualifications in Human Resources or a related field are preferred.
• Strong organisational and time management skills, with excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to prioritise workloads, manage competing deadlines and coordinate multiple tasks.
• Proactive approach, strong initiative and willingness to learn.
• Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain confidentiality.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team and independently when required.
• Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
• Confidence using HR information systems and ability to learn new systems quickly.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Outlook, Word and Excel.
