Job summary

Kangaroo Bus Lines invites applications for an Accounts Officer at our Burpengary Depot. You will join our Finance Team and focus on accounts payable and receivable, maintaining accurate records and supporting month-end processes.

You will report to the Finance Manager, handle client and supplier invoicing, debtor management and ERP/MYOB based tasks. This is a full-time, on-site role in a family-owned business with a strong community focus.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of accounts or accounts clerk experience.
• Understanding of basic accounting principles.
• Accurate data entry with attention to detail.
• Experience with accounting software and ERP systems; MYOB desirable.
• Proficiency in MS Excel and Office 365.
• Strong organisational and time management skills.
• Excellent communication and ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Proactive approach and confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and issue accurate client invoices and monthly statements.
• Manage debtor accounts, follow up overdue payments and assist with debt recovery.
• Process supplier invoices, including checking accuracy, coding and maintaining supplier records.
• Respond to client and supplier enquiries and resolve account discrepancies.
• Assist with client credit card payments through secure third-party platforms when required.
• Support month-end processes, financial reporting and general finance administration.

THE ROLE

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Accounts Officer to join our Finance Team at our Burpengary Depot.

Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will support the day-to-day financial operations of KBL, focusing on accounts payable and receivable, maintaining accurate financial records and building positive relationships with clients and suppliers.

This is a full-time, on-site position offering the opportunity to contribute to a growing, family-owned business.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

ABOUT YOU

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• 1–3 years of accounts or accounts clerk experience.
• A sound understanding of basic accounting principles.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy, particularly with financial data entry.
• Experience with accounting software and ERP systems; MYOB experience is desirable.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, particularly Excel.
• Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise competing tasks.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
