Job summary

Dexterous Group seeks an HR/ER Advisor for a 12-month maternity leave contract (3 days/week). You’ll cover recruitment, contracts, policy, HRIS and employee relations across a client portfolio, delivering practical advice and investigations as needed.

Spend Wednesdays on client sites (Peakhurst/Homebush) with the rest split between our North Sydney office and home, in a hybrid arrangement. 3–5 years’ experience and a relevant degree are required.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years' experience as HR Advisor or Generalist (consulting/outsourcing or multi-client experience desirable).
• Degree in HR, Business or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Current driver’s license with access to a car.

Responsibilities

• Advise clients on employee relations matters, including conflict resolution, disciplinary processes, case management and workplace investigations, backed by knowledge of Fair Work Act, NES, Modern Awards and Enterprise Agreement interpretation.
• Manage recruitment from sourcing to offer, and coach managers on performance, development conversations, engagement and retention.
• Draft and review employment contracts, position descriptions and HR policies, and keep clients across changes to employment law.
• Manage and improve client HRIS, using HR data to spot trends and recommend improvements.
• Spend Wednesdays on site with clients, alternating between Peakhurst and Homebush, and work with a small, collaborative HR Advisory team.

Job description

We're looking for an HR/ER Advisor to join us on a 12-month maternity leave contract, 3 days per week, starting 1 December 2026. There is potential to increase days depending on client requirements.

About the role

Look after a portfolio of clients and give practical advice across the employee lifecycle. The role covers recruitment, performance management, employment contracts, HR policy and compliance, HRIS management and employee relations, including case management and investigations.

Own the relationship with each client in your portfolio, becoming the HR adviser their managers turn to first.

Work with businesses across a range of industries, each with its own people challenges.

Handle everything from everyday advice to complex employee relations matters, so no two weeks look the same.

Build real consulting experience in a part‑time role with genuine substance.

Spend Wednesdays on site with clients, alternating weekly between Peakhurst and Homebush, with the rest of your week split between our North Sydney office and home.

Core Responsibilities & What You'll Bring
