Job summary

Journey Beyond, Australia’s leading experiential tourism group, is seeking an experienced HR generalist to provide practical, timely advice to leaders and employees. The role covers the full employee lifecycle in a fast-paced environment.

This 12-month fixed-term maternity leave cover is based in Sydney or Adelaide, offering close partnership with the General Manager, operational leaders and the HR team to deliver consistent, compliant people outcomes.

Qualifications

• Qualifications in Human Resources or a related discipline.
• Proven experience in a Senior HR Advisory or HR Business Partner role.
• Strong HR generalist experience across the full employee lifecycle.
• Experience providing practical advice on employee relations, industrial relations and performance matters.
• Experience supporting leaders in a fast-paced operational environment.
• Sound knowledge of contemporary HR practices, employment legislation and relevant industrial instruments.
• Strong communication, coaching, relationship-building and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day HR advice and support across recruitment, onboarding, development, performance, engagement, retention and offboarding.
• Partner with the General Manager and operational leaders to deliver agreed people priorities and practical outcomes for employees and the business.
• Build trusted relationships with leaders, employees and key stakeholders.
• Coach leaders in applying HR policies, procedures and sound people practices.
• Provide advice and case support on performance, conduct, grievances, employee relations and industrial relations matters, escalating complex or high-risk matters as appropriate.
• Support recruitment, selection, offers and effective onboarding in partnership with Talent Acquisition and leaders.
• Provide accurate people information and advice to support workforce planning, resourcing, turnover, leave and labour requirements.
• Support employee development and engagement activities and follow through on agreed actions.
• Prepare timely operational HR reporting and maintain accurate employee records, systems and documentation.
• Handle sensitive employee information with discretion and confidentiality.
• The role involves HR office administration and travel as required.
