Job summary

Ampcontrol is seeking a dedicated HR Business Partner based in Tomago (Newcastle) NSW to embed our People value across the business. You will partner with leaders to drive engagement, performance and capability across Australia’s engineering, manufacturing and services operations.

You will coordinate annual HR programs, manage IR/ER matters, and support policy development with a proactive, practical approach.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in successfully servicing and supporting customers in a business partnering model.
• Competent in contemporary HR generalist solutions and support.
• Extensive knowledge and application of Industrial Relations legislation.
• Experience in IR/ER matters including EA negotiation and interpretation.
• Advanced communication skills (written, verbal and interpersonal).
• Strong negotiation and influencing skills with stakeholders.
• Ability to work well within a team and autonomously while owning business needs.
• Tertiary qualifications within Human Resources or relevant field.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate key annual HR programs (workforce planning, engagement, succession, appraisals).
• IR management including EA negotiations and restructuring.
• Grievance handling, workplace investigations, counselling and performance management.
• Policy and process development, implementation and compliance.
• Provide specialised input into People/HR systems and practices.
• Assist Organisational design and change coordination.

As a HR Business Partner you will be joining a dedicated and internally respected HR unit within a broader team containing L&D, Recruitment and People Systems functions that are well regarded within the business.

Based in Tomago (Newcastle) NSW you will be a proactive business partner supporting our multi-award winning engineering, manufacturing and services operations throughout Australia that operate within a range of market sectors including renewables, energy, infrastructure and mining.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

You will be tasked with maintaining and expanding the successful HR Business Partner model through delivering quality strategic initiatives, tactical advice and transactional services. Central to this will be supporting our Leaders in achieving their business objectives through optimal employee engagement, performance and behaviour.

• Coordination of key annual HR programs (ie: workforce planning, workforce engagement, succession planning, performance appraisals)
• IR Management (including EA negotiations, workforce restructuring and other highly consultative programs)
• Grievance management, workplace investigations, counselling/performance management
• Policy and process development, implementation and compliance
• Specialised stakeholder input into People/HR systems and practices
• Organisational design and change coordination

• Your advice is viewed as professional, practical and useful
• Your businesses can show year on year improvement in relation to employee engagement, retention and other core people analytics

YOU’LL NEED THESE TO SUCCEED

• Ability to work well within a team and autonomously whilst owning your allocated businesses needs
• Tertiary qualifications within Human Resources or relevant field
