Job summary

Right at Home Australia is seeking an HR professional to manage onboarding, ensure compliance and provide advisory support on industrial relations. The role supports a People & Culture team dedicated to a compliant, capable workforce across our network.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in HR or related field.
• Generalist HR advisory experience, ideally in aged care or award-reliant industry.
• Solid working knowledge of the SCHADS Award (or willingness to learn Nurses/Health Professionals Awards).
• Experience managing onboarding, probation, and performance processes end-to-end.
• Excellent communication and ability to translate award requirements for non-HR audiences.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end onboarding (pre-employment checks, induction, documentation).
• Support HR compliance with employee file audits, training completion, screenings/renewal requirements.
• Provide first-line industrial relations advice on SCHADS/Nurses/Health Professionals Awards.
• Coordinate probation reviews, annual performance reviews, and Performance Improvement Plans.
• Support show cause meetings and other employee relations processes.
• Act as the go-to person for day-to-day HR queries.

Key responsibilities

Managing end-to-end onboarding, including pre-employment checks, induction, and new starter documentation

Supporting HR compliance, including employee file audits, training completion, and screening/renewal requirements

Providing first-line industrial relations advice on the SCHADS Award, Nurses Award, and Health Professionals and Support Services Award

Coordinating probation reviews, annual performance reviews, and Performance Improvement Plans

Supporting show cause meetings and other formal employee relations processes

Acting as the go-to person for day-to-day HR queries from employees and managers

About you

Tertiary qualification in HR, Industrial/Employee Relations, or a related field (or equivalent experience)

Proven generalist HR advisory experience, ideally in aged care, disability, or another award-reliant industry

Solid working knowledge of the SCHADS Award (or a strong willingness to get up to speed quickly on the Nurses and Health Professionals Awards)

Experience managing onboarding, probation, and performance processes end-to-end

Confidence supporting formal employee relations processes under guidance

Excellent communication skills and the ability to translate award and compliance requirements for non-HR audiences
