Job summary

Richmond Fellowship Queensland in Ipswich is seeking a Recovery Support Worker to join our Housing Support Program on a permanent full-time basis. You will assist people experiencing housing insecurity and mental health challenges to find and maintain stable housing and build everyday living skills.

You will work with clients to set personal recovery goals, develop practical skills, and connect them with community resources, housing providers and health services.

Qualifications

• Must have qualification in a human services related field.
• Demonstrated experience supporting people with mental health challenges.
• Experience in housing or homelessness support is highly regarded.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Compassionate, respectful approach with professional boundaries.

Responsibilities

• Support individuals to explore housing options and secure stable accommodation.
• Help clients build everyday living skills and independent living.
• Identify personal recovery goals and support progress toward them.
• Build trusting, supportive relationships to encourage confidence and independence.
• Connect individuals with mental health services, welfare support, peer networks and community resources.
• Collaborate with housing providers, mental health services and community organisations.
