Job summary

Mission Australia is seeking a Housing Content Lead, Tenant Resources, to develop clear tenant communications and resources across Housing Operations. You will translate policy and service changes into practical, accessible materials and manage content life cycles.

Qualifications

  • Relevant qualifications in communications, writing, community services, public policy, business, or equivalent demonstrated experience.
  • Experience in writing, communications or content development within a complex operational environment.
  • Experience developing customer-facing, tenant-facing or community-facing communication materials.
  • Strong ability to translate complex information into practical, easy-to-understand content.
  • Experience applying plain English principles and accessibility standards.
  • Exceptional writing, editing and proofreading skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement, consultation and relationship-building skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and SharePoint.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, write, review and edit tenant-facing communications and resources across Housing Operations.
  • Create new tenant resources where gaps have been identified, aligned to business priorities and operational needs.
  • Produce clear, practical content that helps tenants understand services, processes and requirements.
  • Translate policy updates, operational requirements and service changes into accessible tenant communications.
  • Review and uplift existing resources to improve clarity, accessibility, consistency and usability.
  • Manage document review cycles, version control and ongoing content maintenance.
  • Collaborate with operational teams, subject matter experts and stakeholders to develop accurate content.
  • Gather tenant feedback and insights to continuously improve communication materials and resources.

Your opportunity

Finding a home is only one part of the housing journey. Understanding how services work, knowing where to seek support, and having access to clear information can make all the difference. As Housing Content Lead, Tenant Resources, you will play an important role in helping tenants navigate their housing experience by creating practical, accessible and easy-to-understand communications. Working across Housing Operations, you will develop and improve the resources that help people understand services, processes and opportunities available to them, contributing to stronger tenant outcomes and a more consistent service experience.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • Contribute to projects, service improvements and operational change initiatives through effective tenant communications.
Requirements for success
  • Relevant qualifications in communications, writing, community services, public policy, business, or equivalent demonstrated experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in writing, communications or content development within a complex operational environment.
  • Experience developing customer-facing, tenant-facing or community-facing communication materials.
  • Strong capability to translate complex information into practical, easy-to-understand content.
  • Experience applying plain English principles and accessibility standards.
  • Exceptional writing, editing and proofreading skills with a strong attention to detail.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement, consultation and relationship-building skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and document management platforms such as SharePoint.
  • Before starting work with us, you will need to undertake a national police history check, qualifications, and referee checks, and have a clearance to work with children/vulnerable people.
