Job summary

Mission Australia is seeking a Housing Knowledge and Content Manager to lead the creation, maintenance and sharing of practical operating resources across our Housing Operations. You will shape how knowledge is created, maintained and shared across one of Australia’s largest community housing providers.

You will lead a specialist team, drive governance of policies and manuals, and collaborate with stakeholders to ensure clear, accessible, and compliant documentation that supports staff,

Qualifications

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in communications, writing, business, public policy, community services or related discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in documentation, communications, content development or knowledge management.
  • Strong knowledge of document governance, content management and review processes.
  • Proven ability to develop practical, fit-for-purpose resources with operational teams.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement across diverse teams.
  • Exceptional writing, editing and communication skills focused on usability.
  • Ability to balance strategic priorities with hands-on delivery and deadlines.
  • Experience in community housing, social housing, government or community services is highly regarded.
  • Proficiency with Office tools and platforms, including SharePoint; Police Check required.

  • Build strong relationships across housing, corporate and enabling teams to deliver nationally consistent resources and guidance.

Your opportunity

As the Housing Knowledge and Content Manager, you will play a vital role in shaping how knowledge is created, maintained and shared across Mission Australia’s Housing Operations. Working across one of Australia’s largest community housing providers, you will lead a team responsible for developing clear, accessible and practical operational resources that support staff, residents and stakeholders, ensuring services remain consistent, compliant and focused on positive resident outcomes. As the custodian of operational knowledge, you will oversee the development, maintenance and continuous improvement of procedures, SOPs, guides and other operational resources, ensuring they remain accurate, accessible and aligned to business requirements and service designs. While this role is responsible for translating new and existing processes into practical operational documentation, current and future-state service design sits within the Business Analyst function.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

Requirements for success

  • Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills across diverse teams.
  • Exceptional writing, editing and communication skills with a focus on quality and usability.
  • Ability to balance strategic priorities with hands‑on delivery and competing deadlines.
  • Experience within community housing, social housing, government or community services settings will be highly regarded.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and document or knowledge management platforms, including SharePoint. Police Check required.
