Job summary

The Darling, Sydney, NSW, invites you to join us as a Hotel Porter. You will be the face of the hotel, delivering outstanding guest experiences and helping create memorable stays at The Star Sydney venues.

You will greet guests, guide them, and ensure their needs are met with warmth and efficiency. In this dynamic role, you will handle luggage, assist with parking, and collaborate with the hotel team to maintain a welcoming environment.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering high levels of customer service in hospitality or retail.
• Ability to greet guests warmly and manage inquiries with professionalism.
• Willingness to work flexible 24/7 rosters and adapt to guest needs.

As a Hotel Porter at The Darling, you will embody confidence and possess a deep understanding of how to create a truly unique guest experience. In this dynamic role, you will be the face of our hotel, providing outstanding service that leaves a lasting impression.

A few of your responsibilities:

• Provide clear directions within the hotel and share valuable information about the surrounding areas, enhancing our guests' experience
• Greet and welcome guests, addressing their requests and inquiries with warmth and professionalism
• Efficiently handle, store, and deliver luggage to guest rooms, ensuring seamless service
• Valet Park and retrieve guests' vehicles with precision and care
• Maintain our parking facilities to the highest standards, ensuring they are immaculate and inviting, reflecting our commitment to excellence

What we are looking for:

• A friendly and welcoming approach that exemplifies exceptional customer service
• Excellent communication skills and a polished appearance that reflects our standards
• Ability to develop a solid knowledge of the local area and upcoming Sydney events to assist guests effectively
• High energy, enthusiasm, and a positive, can-do attitude that enhances the guest experience
• A valid Australian driver's license to facilitate vehicle handling
• Flexibility to work across a 24/7 roster, adapting to the needs of our guests and the hotel

About you:

You pride yourself on your ability to consistently deliver exemplary customer service gained from your experience in retail, hotels, restaurant settings or other customer facing roles. Working as part of a team is something you enjoy as well as being someone who can offer our guests that professional touchpoint to ensure their stay with us is memorable. You are adaptable and flexible, willing to go from parking vehicles and ensuring the smooth flow of traffic through our guest drop off points to delivering luggage to rooms and having conversations with guests around current local events and the best places to dine at The Star.
