Job summary

Blue Collar Skills in Brisbane is seeking an ambitious Assistant General Manager for a busy North Brisbane hospitality venue. In this hands-on leadership role, you will oversee dining, bars, gaming and functions, driving service standards and commercial performance.

Working with the General Manager, you’ll coach a large team, manage rosters, optimise P&L and guest experience, and pursue opportunities to grow revenue. This is a senior, impactful step toward General Manager.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated leadership experience in a busy hospitality operation.
• Strong operational knowledge across F&B, gaming, and venues.
• Ability to lead, motivate and develop large teams while holding people accountable.
• Solid understanding of venue financials: P&L, labour costs, sales performance, stock control.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily operations across dining, bars, gaming, TAB, functions and venue services.
• Support the General Manager in achieving sales, profitability and objectives.
• Inspire and develop a large team of managers, supervisors and frontline staff.
• Manage rostering, labour costs and productivity to maintain efficient operations.
• Identify opportunities to grow revenue, improve margins and enhance guest experience.
• Monitor financial performance, including stock control and operational expenditure.
• Maintain presentation, service quality and regulatory compliance across all areas.
• Collaborate with kitchen and front-of-house leaders to improve service quality.
• Coordinate functions and peak trading periods; build relationships with regular customers.
