Royal Geelong Yacht Club in Geelong is seeking a hospitality cafe all-rounder including barista, bar and functions. You will deliver quality service for RGYC hosted events and daily cafe operations, open daily with dinner on select nights, and contribute to a friendly, fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

Royal Geelong Yacht Club (RGYC) is one of the premier Yacht Clubs in Australia with over 1,200 members, with a proud and longstanding history since 1859. Positioned in a prime location on the Geelong waterfront

RGYC is home to an exciting and diverse calendar of major events including the annual Festival of the Sails and a variety of National and World sailing Championships. RGYC also prides itself on hosting an impressive array of functions throughout the year, including member services offerings, corporate and community events and private social functions as well as the day-to-day offerings of the café and bar operating 7 days a week.

About the role:

Due to exciting growth in the hospitality space at RGYC, we are seeking dedicated and enthusiastic multi skilled staff to join our hospitality team and assist in the deliver quality service for all RGYC hosted functions and events and day to day service of the café and club Bar. This role will include a diverse and varied scope of tasks and responsibilities. The Club’s café/bistro is open every day as well as dinner on Wednesday and Friday nights. The Club bar is open daily to members and guests. RGYC prides itself on providing an environment that promotes and fosters all team members to achieve a work/life balance.

The role and responsibilities:

• Provide professional and polite service
• Experienced barista
• Bar Service, pouring beers, wines and mixing drinks
• Maintaining a clean and safe workplace.
• Able to carry 3 plates.
• Ensure tables are cleared and cleaned.
• Can-do attitude and a positive approach is essential
• Excellent verbal and written communications
• Ability to work under pressure.
• A team player who is respectful of others and supports coworkers.
• Keen interest to develop your skills and knowledge.

Requirements:

• Current RSA certificate
• Demonstrated experience as an advantage.
• Sound knowledge FOH operations
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
• Working with Children's Certificate or willing to obtain
