Job summary

Hunter New England Local Health District in Armidale Hospital is seeking a Plumber to join the maintenance team. You will perform preventative and reactive plumbing, drainage, gas and hydraulic work to keep hospital infrastructure safe and operational.

Based in Armidale, you’ll help maintain facilities across the region, ensuring compliance with Australian Standards, WHS and infection control while contributing to quality healthcare services.

Qualifications

• Trade Certificate in Plumbing, drainer and gas fitter or equivalent (Cert III).
• Current NSW Plumbing Licence, or ability to obtain prior to commencement.
• Construction White Card.
• Current Driver’s Licence and ability to travel for work.
• Obtained or willingness to obtain thermostatic mixing valve and backflow prevention certificates.

Responsibilities

• Complete preventative and reactive maintenance across water, drainage, gas and hydraulic systems.
• Identify faults and undertake plumbing repairs, upgrades and installations.
• Respond to urgent maintenance requests while minimising disruption to clinical services.
• Ensure all work meets Australian Standards, WHS and infection control requirements.
• Support infrastructure upgrades and facility improvement projects.
• Maintain accurate records through electronic maintenance systems.
• Work closely with hospital staff, contractors and other trades to deliver effective maintenance services.
