Job summary

Northern Health is seeking an experienced Hospital Coordinator for Kilmore District Hospital. The role oversees hospital operations, clinical leadership, bed management and patient flow, coordinating with clinicians and managers to ensure efficient service delivery.

The successful candidate will have RN or Midwife registration with AHPRA, at least 5 years acute nursing experience, and experience as Bed Manager or Hospital Coordinator.

Qualifications

• Current Registration as a Registered Nurse or Midwife, with AHPRA.
• At least 5 years acute clinical nursing experience.
• Experience as Bed Manager or Hospital Coordinator.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, problem solving and conflict management skills.
• Demonstrated ability to lead others and negotiate creative solutions.
• Ability to utilise analytical and conceptual thinking to identify and resolve issues.
• Commitment to collaborative practice and lifelong learning.
• Ability to anticipate and assess the impact of changes in utilisation patterns on the system.
• Ability to assess complex situations and make appropriate management decisions.

• Must be computer literate and able to access and utilise NH IT systems.

Responsibilities

• Oversee management of hospital operations and clinical/non-clinical emergency responses.
• Coordinate patient flow, bed management and workforce allocation.
• Support clinicians in patient care, deterioration management and progression of care.
• Escalate to Site Manager/Director on call as required.
• Lead and coordinate cross-disciplinary teams during peak periods.
