Silverchain is seeking a Care Worker to support aged care clients in Parramatta and surrounding areas. You will deliver home care including housekeeping and personal care, following care plans and safety guidelines.

Mandatory Cert III in Aged Care or related field with 6+ months experience; valid driver’s licence and own vehicle required. Shifts Monday to Friday 7:00am–3:00pm, 60 hours per fortnight; salary packaging available.

Qualifications

• Cert III or above in Aged Care or Individual Support or Disability.
• Experience of 6 months or more in a similar role, with personal care, manual handling, hoist training and medications.
• Must have a valid Australian Driver's Licence and your own insured, roadworthy vehicle.

Responsabilités

• Provide general home help services: housekeeping, making beds, cleaning, laundry, meal preparation and shopping.
• Provide personal care: getting clients out of bed, showering and dressing, assist with medications and mobility.
• Transport clients to lifestyle activities or appointments and provide social support.

We are looking for a Cert III qualified person with at least 6 months experience in a similar role, to join the Silverchain team in the Parramatta and surrounding areas.

Please note: We are looking for a Home Care Worker who is available to work Monday to Friday, 7:00am–3:00pm (60 hours per fortnight).

• Don’t sweat the small stuff. Sometimes your client will be having a bad day or traffic delays you, but you know not to take this personally and can shake it off before your next client.
• Are comfortable working independently and finding solutions to everyday problems, knowing when to ask your manager for help.

In addition, you will need:

• A valid Australian Driver's Licence & your own insured, roadworthy vehicle
• Certificate III or above in Aged Care or Individual Support or Disability
• Experience of 6 months or more in a similar role, with experience in with personal care, manual handling, hoist training and medications.

The role

In the role of Care Worker you will be providing our aged care clients with home help services such as:

• General housekeeping and making beds
• Cleaning, mopping and vacuuming floors
• Washing, folding and ironing laundry
• Meal preparation and grocery shopping.
• You will also be providing our aged care clients with personal care services such as:
• Getting clients out of bed, showered and dressed for the day
• Assisting clients to take their medications
• Assisting with mobility and therapy goals
• Providing complex care for customers with high care needs, such as dementia
• Providing social and emotional support
• Providing the client with transport to lifestyle activities or appointments
• Helping the family carer to have a break or an opportunity to do other things.
