Job summary

Silverchain is seeking a Care Worker to support aged care clients at home in Redbank and surrounding areas. You will provide personal care, household tasks and community transport to help clients stay independent and safe.

Applicants should have at least 3 months of relevant experience, a valid Australian Driver's Licence with a roadworthy vehicle, and be comfortable with medications, mobility and daily routines in a home setting.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 months experience in a similar professional role.
• Australian Driver's Licence and own insured vehicle.
• Experience in personal care, manual handling, hoist training and medications.

Responsibilities

• General housekeeping and making beds.
• Cleaning, mopping and vacuuming floors.
• Washing, folding and ironing laundry.
• Meal preparation and grocery shopping.
• Getting clients out of bed, showered and dressed.
• Assisting clients with medications and mobility.
• Providing social and emotional support and transport to activities.

• Don’t sweat the small stuff. Sometimes your client will be having a bad day or traffic delays you, but you know not to take this personally and can shake it off before your next client.
• Are comfortable working independently and finding solutions to everyday problems, knowing when to ask your manager for help.

In addition, you will need:

• A valid Australian Driver's Licence andyour own insured, roadworthy vehicle
• Experience of 3 months or more in a similar professional role, with experience in with personal care, manual handling, hoist training and medications.

The role

In the role of Care Worker you will be providing our aged care clients with home help services such as:

• General housekeeping and making beds
• Cleaning, mopping and vacuuming floors
• Washing, folding and ironing laundry
• Meal preparation and grocery shopping.

You will also be providing our aged care clients with personal care services such as:

• Getting clients out of bed, showered and dressed for the day
• Assisting clients to take their medications
• Assisting with mobility and therapy goalsProviding complex care for customers with high care needs, such as dementia
• Providing social and emotional support
• Providing the client with transport to lifestyle activities or appointments
• Helping the family carer to have a break or an opportunity to do other things.
