Job summary

Silverchain Group is seeking a Care Worker to support aged care clients in Margate and surrounding areas with in-home services. You will perform general housekeeping, meal preparation and personal care tasks, including mobility assistance and medication support, while delivering compassionate, client-focused care.

Applicants should have at least 3 months of relevant experience, a valid Australian driver’s licence with an insured vehicle, and be prepared to participate in CPR/First Aid training.

Qualifications

• 3 months+ experience in a similar professional role.
• Ability to perform personal care tasks and manual handling.
• Valid Australian driver's licence and own insured vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Provide home help services: housekeeping, bed-making, cleaning, laundry, meal prep and grocery shopping.
• Deliver personal care: assist with mobility, getting clients ready, medication support, and high care needs when required.
• Support clients transport to activities or appointments and offer social/emotional support.

In addition, you will need:

• A valid Australian Driver's Licence & your own insured, roadworthy vehicle
• Experience of 3 months or more in a similar professional role, with experience in with personal care, manual handling, hoist training and medications.

The role

In the role of Care Worker you will be providing our aged care clients with home help services such as:

• General housekeeping and making beds
• Cleaning, mopping and vacuuming floors
• Washing, folding and ironing laundry
• Meal preparation and grocery shopping.

You will also be providing our aged care clients with personal care services such as:

• Getting clients out of bed, showered and dressed for the day
• Assisting clients to take their medications
• Assisting with mobility and therapy goals
• Providing complex care for customers with high care needs, such as dementia
• Providing social and emotional support
• Providing the client with transport to lifestyle activities or appointments
• Helping the family carer to have a break or an opportunity to do other things.
