Job summary

Silver Chain Group is hiring Care Workers in the Kogarah area to support older adults in maintaining independence and wellbeing. The role requires at least 3 months of relevant experience, a valid Australian driver's licence, and a personal vehicle.

You will provide both domestic support and personal care, including medications and mobility assistance, in clients' homes. We offer guaranteed hours, an award rate of $34.42 per hour plus super, paid kilometres, and a benefits program with salary

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 months experience in a similar professional role.
• Valid Australian Driver's Licence and own insured vehicle.
• Experience with personal care, manual handling and medications.

Responsibilities

• Provide home help services including housekeeping and meals.
• Perform laundry, cleaning and grocery shopping.

• Are comfortable working independently and finding solutions to everyday problems, knowing when to ask your manager for help.

In addition, you will need:

• A valid Australian Driver's Licence & your own insured, roadworthy vehicle
• Experience of 3 months or more in a similar professional role, with experience in with personal care, manual handling, hoist training and medications.

The role

In the role of Care Worker you will be providing our aged care clients with home help services such as:

• General housekeeping and making beds
• Cleaning, mopping and vacuuming floors
• Washing, folding and ironing laundry
• Meal preparation and grocery shopping.

You will also be providing our aged care clients with personal care services such as:

• Getting clients out of bed, showered and dressed for the day
• Assisting clients to take their medications
• Assisting with mobility and therapy goals
• Providing complex care for customers with high care needs, such as dementia
• Providing social and emotional support
• Providing the client with transport to lifestyle activities or appointments
• Helping the family carer to have a break or an opportunity to do other things.
