Job summary

Silver Chain Group is seeking a Cert III qualified Care Worker to support our aged care clients in Cheltenham and surrounding areas. The role offers guaranteed hours, an award rate, and opportunities for professional development, including accelerated learning programs and CPR/First Aid training.

You will work autonomously, build strong relationships with clients and families, and help clients maintain independence and wellbeing in their own homes.

Qualifications

• Cert III in Aged Care or equivalent required.
• Minimum 6 months experience in a similar care role.
• Valid Australian Driver's Licence with own insured vehicle.
• Experience with personal care, manual handling, hoist training and medications.

Responsibilities

• Provide home help services: housekeeping, cleaning, washing, laundry, meal prep.
• Deliver personal care: assist with getting clients in/out of bed, showering and dressing.
• Support clients to take medications and mobility goals.
• Offer transport to activities and appointments and assist families as needed.
• Provide social and emotional support to clients and families.

We are looking for a Cert III qualified person with at least 6 months experience in a similar role, to join the Silverchain team in the Cheltenhamand surrounding areas.

What we're looking for

• Don't sweat the small stuff. Sometimes your client will be having a bad day or traffic delays you, but you know not to take this personally and can shake it off before your next client.


• Are comfortable working independently and finding solutions to everyday problems, knowing when to ask your manager for help.

In addition, you will need:

• A valid Australian Driver's Licence & your own insured, roadworthy vehicle


• Certificate III or above in Aged Care or Individual Support or Disability


• Experience of 6 months or more in a similar role, with experience in with personal care, manual handling, hoist training and medications.

The role

In the role of Care Worker you will be providing our aged care clients with home help services such as:

• General housekeeping and making beds


• Cleaning, mopping and vacuuming floors


• Washing, folding and ironing laundry


• Meal preparation and grocery shopping.


• You will also be providing our aged care clients with personal care services such as:


• Getting clients out of bed, showered and dressed for the day


• Assisting clients to take their medications


• Assisting with mobility and therapy goals


• Providing complex care for customers with high care needs, such as dementia


• Providing social and emotional support


• Providing the client with transport to lifestyle activities or appointments


• Helping the family carer to have a break or an opportunity to do other things.
