Job summary

Silverchain Group is seeking Care Workers to support our aged care clients in Redbank and surrounding areas. You will provide home help and personal care, helping clients maintain independence and wellbeing.

We value empathy, strong communication, and the ability to work independently. Required are a valid Australian driver's license, access to your own insured vehicle, and at least 3 months in a similar role, with experience in personal care and medications.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 months experience in a similar professional role.
• Experience in personal care, manual handling, hoist training and medications.

Responsibilities

• General housekeeping, making beds, cleaning, mopping and vacuuming floors.
• Washing, folding and ironing laundry; meal preparation and grocery shopping.

We are looking for a person with at least 3 months experience in a similar professional role, to join the Silverchain team in the Redbank and surrounding areas.

• Don’t sweat the small stuff. Sometimes your client will be having a bad day or traffic delays you, but you know not to take this personally and can shake it off before your next client.
• Are comfortable working independently and finding solutions to everyday problems, knowing when to ask your manager for help.

In Addition, You Will Need

• A valid Australian Driver's Licence and your own insured, roadworthy vehicle
• Experience of 3 months or more in a similar professional role, with experience in with personal care, manual handling, hoist training and medications.

The role

In the role of Care Worker you will be providing our aged care clients with home help services such as:

• General housekeeping and making beds
• Cleaning, mopping and vacuuming floors
• Washing, folding and ironing laundry
• Meal preparation and grocery shopping.

You will also be providing our aged care clients with personal care services such as:

• Getting clients out of bed, showered and dressed for the day
• Assisting clients to take their medications
• Assisting with mobility and therapy goals
• Providing complex care for customers with high care needs, such as dementia
• Providing social and emotional support
• Providing the client with transport to lifestyle activities or appointments
• Helping the family carer to have a break or an opportunity to do other things.
