Job summary

Silver Chain Group in Springwood, NSW is hiring a Home Care Worker to support aged care clients at home. You will assist with housekeeping, laundry, meal prep and transport, while fostering social engagement and independence.

The role requires an ability to work independently, build positive relationships with clients and their families, and manage day-to-day challenges with a customer-focused approach.

Qualifications

• Valid Australian driver’s licence and insured vehicle.
• Interest in community or aged care (experience preferred but not essential).

Responsibilities

• Provide general home help services to aged care clients (housekeeping, making beds, cleaning, mopping, vacuuming).
• Laundry tasks (washing, folding, ironing).
• Meal preparation and grocery shopping.
• Provide social support and transport to lifestyle activities.
• Support the family carer to take breaks or pursue other tasks.
• Work with clients to promote independence at home.

• Don't sweat the small stuff. Sometimes your client will be having a bad day or traffic delays you, but you know not to take this personally and can shake it off before your next client.
• Are comfortable working independently and finding solutions to everyday problems, knowing when to ask your manager for help.

In addition, you will need:

• A valid Australian Driver's Licence & your own insured, roadworthy vehicle

The role

In the role of Home Care Worker you will be providing our aged care clients with home help services, such as:
