Job summary

SilverChain in Burnie and surrounding areas is seeking a caring Care Worker to support older members in maintaining independence and wellbeing. A valid Australian Driver's Licence and own insured vehicle are preferred, with at least 3 months in a similar role and experience in personal care and medications.

You will deliver home help and personal care services across client homes. Role includes housekeeping, meal prep, mobility support and companionship, with guaranteed hours and an award rate

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 months experience in a similar care role, with personal care and medication awareness.

Responsibilities

• Provide general housekeeping, bed making, cleaning, and meal preparation.
• Assist clients with getting in and out of bed, personal care and mobility support.
• Assist with medications and documented care plans as directed.
• Support clients with daily activities and transport to appointments or activities.
• Provide social and emotional support to clients and their families.

In addition, you will need:

• A valid Australian Driver's Licence & your own insured, roadworthy vehicle
• Experience of 3 months or more in a similar professional role, with experience in with personal care, manual handling, hoist training and medications.

The role

In the role of Care Worker you will be providing our aged care clients with home help services such as:

• General housekeeping and making beds
• Cleaning, mopping and vacuuming floors
• Washing, folding and ironing laundry
• Meal preparation and grocery shopping.

You will also be providing our aged care clients with personal care services such as:

• Getting clients out of bed, showered and dressed for the day
• Assisting clients to take their medications
• Assisting with mobility and therapy goals
• Providing complex care for customers with high care needs, such as dementia
• Providing social and emotional support
• Providing the client with transport to lifestyle activities or appointments
• Helping the family carer to have a break or an opportunity to do other things.
