Job summary

Silverchain is seeking a Cert III qualified Care Worker to join our Laurieton team, servicing Laurieton and nearby suburbs. This casual role offers award wages of 43.24 AUD per hour plus superannuation and paid kilometres, with a pathway to permanent part-time work.

You will support older clients to live independently at home, performing personal care, household tasks, mobility assistance and transport to activities, while building trusted relationships with clients and families.

Qualifications

• Certificate III or above in Aged Care or Individual Support (Ageing) or (Aged Care & Disability).
• Experience of 6 months or more in a similar role including personal care, manual handling and assisting with medications.
• Valid Australian Driver's Licence and own insured, roadworthy vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Provide home help services: housekeeping, meals, laundry, shopping.
• Provide personal care: assist getting clients out of bed, shower, dress, and medications.
• Assist with mobility and therapy goals and transport to activities.
• Support clients to live independently at home and provide social support.

Job description

It takes a special person to be a Care Worker and help the older members of our community to maintain their independence and wellbeing. We are looking for a Cert III qualified person with at least 6 months experience in a similar role (ageing, aged care & Disability), to join the Silverchain team in Laurieton and surrounding suburbs (Bobs Creek, Kew, North Haven etc...)

In addition, you will need:

The role

In the role of Care Worker, you will be providing our aged care clients with home help services such as:

• General housekeeping and making beds.
• Cleaning, mopping and vacuuming floors.
• Washing, folding and ironing laundry.
• Meal preparation and grocery shopping.

You will also be providing our aged care clients with personal care services such as:

• Getting clients out of bed, showered and dressed for the day.
• Assisting clients to take their medications.
• Assisting with mobility and therapy goals.
• Providing complex care for customers with high care needs, such as dementia.
• Providing social and emotional support.
• Providing the client with transport to lifestyle activities or appointments.
• Helping the family carer to have a break or an opportunity to do other things.
