Job summary

Silverchain is hiring a Home Care Worker to support older adults at home in the Kempsey region. You will provide home help, housekeeping, laundry, meal prep, and transport to activities, helping clients live independently with dignity.

Guaranteed hours, award rate of $32.61 per hour plus super, paid kilometers, and benefits program. CPR and First Aid courses provided. Driver's license and own insured vehicle required.

Qualifications

• Open class Australian Driver's Licence & your own insured, roadworthy vehicle.
• Experience in community or aged care is preferred but not essential.
• Ability to work independently and solve problems on the go.

Responsibilities

• Provide home help services to aged care clients (housekeeping, cleaning, laundry).
• Meal preparation and grocery shopping.
• Transport clients to lifestyle activities or appointments.
• Support clients to live independently at home for longer.
• Assist family carers by enabling breaks or time off.

• Don’t sweat the small stuff. Sometimes your client will be having a bad day or traffic delays you, but you know not to take this personally and can shake it off before your next client.
• Are comfortable working independently and finding solutions to everyday problems, knowing when to ask your manager for help.

In addition, you will need:

• An Open class Australian Driver's Licence & your own insured, roadworthy vehicle
• An interest in community care or aged care (experience preferred but not essential).

The role

In the role of Home Care Worker you will be providing our aged care clients with home help services, such as:

• General housekeeping and making beds
• Cleaning, mopping and vacuuming floors
• Washing, folding and ironing laundry
• Meal preparation and grocery shopping
• Providing social support and transport to lifestyle activities

Helping the family carer to have a break or an opportunity to do other things.
