Job summary

Silverchain is seeking a Home Care Worker in Mornington, VIC and surrounding suburbs to help older members maintain independence at home and enhance wellbeing.

You will provide domestic support, personal care and social transport, with duties including housekeeping, meal prep, laundry and assisting families to give carers a break. Applicants should have a valid Australian driver's licence and their own insured vehicle.

Qualifications

• Valid Australian Driver's Licence and insured, roadworthy vehicle.
• Interest in community care or aged care; experience preferred but not essential.
• Ability to work independently and solve daily problems.

Responsibilities

• General housekeeping and making beds.
• Cleaning, mopping and vacuuming floors.
• Washing, folding and ironing laundry.
• Meal preparation and grocery shopping.
• Personal care.
• Providing social support and transport to lifestyle activities.
• Helping the family carer to have a break or an opportunity to do other things.

• Don’t sweat the small stuff. Sometimes your client will be having a bad day or traffic delays you, but you know not to take this personally and can shake it off before your next client.
• Are comfortable working independently and finding solutions to everyday problems, knowing when to ask your manager for help.

In addition, you will need:

• A valid Australian Driver's Licence & your own insured, roadworthy vehicle
