Job summary

Silverchain is seeking a Home Care Worker to assist older clients at home in Bathurst and surrounds. The role covers housekeeping, laundry, meal prep, and social support, helping clients live independently with dignity.

You’ll need a valid Australian Driver's Licence and your own insured vehicle, plus an interest in community care. Training and CPR/First Aid courses are provided, with commitment to best care standards.

Qualifications

• 3–6 months experience in a similar role is preferred.
• Valid Australian Driver's Licence and own insured, roadworthy vehicle.
• Interest in community or aged care.

Responsibilities

• General housekeeping, making beds and cleaning floors.
• Washing, folding and ironing laundry.
• Meal preparation and grocery shopping.
• Providing social support and transport to activities.
• Support family carers by offering breaks when needed.
• Deliver care in clients' homes to support independence.

• Don’t sweat the small stuff. Sometimes your client will be having a bad day or traffic delays you, but you know not to take this personally and can shake it off before your next client.
• Are comfortable working independently and finding solutions to everyday problems, knowing when to ask your manager for help.

In addition, you will need:

• A valid Australian Driver's Licence & your own insured, roadworthy vehicle
• An interest in community care or aged care (3 - 6 months previous experience in a similar role).

The role

In the role of Home Care Worker you will be providing our aged care clients with home help services, such as:

• General housekeeping and making beds
• Cleaning, mopping and vacuuming floors
• Washing, folding and ironing laundry
• Meal preparation and grocery shopping
• Providing social support and transport to lifestyle activities
• Helping the family carer to have a break or an opportunity to do other things.
