Silverchain Group is hiring Home Care Workers on the Sunshine Coast to support older community members to stay independent at home. Roles available include casual and permanent part-time positions with award rates plus super, paid kilometres, and salary packaging options.

Entry level roles do not require a Cert 3, though drivers with their own insured vehicle are preferred. Training includes CPR and First Aid; a not-for-profit organisation reinvesting in care innovation.

Job Description

It takes a special person to be a Home Care Worker and help the older members of our community to maintain their home and enhance their wellbeing. We currently have multiple opportunities to join the Silverchain team in Sunshine Coast north and south regions (North - Coolum Beach, Nambour, Noosaville, Peregian Beach etc...) (South - Buderim, Caloundra, Glenview, Maroochydore etc...).

• Don’t sweat the small stuff. Sometimes your client will be having a bad day or traffic delays you, but you know not to take this personally and can shake it off before your next client.
• Are comfortable working independently and finding solutions to everyday problems, knowing when to ask your manager for help.

In Addition, You Will Need

• An Open class Australian Driver's Licence & your own insured, roadworthy vehicle
• An interest in community care or aged care (experience preferred but not essential).

The role

In the role of Home Care Worker you will be providing our aged care clients with home help services, such as:

Entry Level

• General housekeeping and making beds
• Cleaning, mopping and vacuuming floors
• Washing, folding and ironing laundry
• Meal preparation and grocery shopping
• Providing social support and transport to lifestyle activities Helping the family carer to have a break or an opportunity to do other things.

Level 2 Home Care Worker

• General housekeeping and making beds.
• Cleaning, mopping and vacuuming floors.
• Washing, folding and ironing laundry.
• Meal preparation and grocery shopping.
• Getting clients out of bed, showered and dressed for the day.
• Assisting clients to take their medications.
• Assisting with mobility and therapy goals.
• Providing complex care for customers with high care needs, such as dementia.
• Providing social and emotional support.
• Providing the client with transport to lifestyle activities or appointments.
• Helping the family carer to have a break or an opportunity to do other things.
