Job summary

Silverchain Group is seeking Care Workers in Toowoomba and surrounding suburbs to help elderly clients maintain independence and wellbeing. Roles available as Casual and Permanent Part-Time with guaranteed hours, starting at award rates with mileage reimbursement and salary packaging options.

Applicants should have at least 6 months in a similar role and hold a Certificate III in Aged Care or equivalent. A valid Australian Driver’s Licence and access to a vehicle are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months experience in a similar care role.
• Certificate III or above in Aged Care or Individual Support.
• A valid Australian Driver's Licence and your own insured, roadworthy vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Provide home help services including housekeeping, bed-making, cleaning, laundry and meal preparation.
• Deliver personal care such as getting clients out of bed, showering, dressing and assisting with medications.
• Support clients to maintain independence and wellbeing, including mobility and social engagement.

• Award rate (Cas = $43.03), (PPT = $36.23) per hour + Super + Paid KM's (99cents)

• Don’t sweat the small stuff. Sometimes your client will be having a bad day or traffic delays you, but you know not to take this personally and can shake it off before your next client.
• Are comfortable working independently and finding solutions to everyday problems, knowing when to ask your manager for help.

In Addition, You Will Need

• A valid Australian Driver's Licence & your own insured, roadworthy vehicle
• Certificate III or above in Aged Care or Individual Support (Aged Care) or (Ageing & Disability)
• Experience of 6 months or more in a similar role, with experience in with personal care, manual handling, hoist training and medications.

The role

Role

In the role of Home Care Worker, you will be providing our aged care clients with home help services such as:

• General housekeeping and making beds
• Cleaning, mopping and vacuuming floors
• Washing, folding and ironing laundry
• Meal preparation and grocery shopping.

You will also be providing our aged care clients with personal care services such as:

• Getting clients out of bed, showered and dressed for the day
• Assisting clients to take their medications
• Assisting with mobility and therapy goals
• Providing complex care for customers with high care needs, such as dementia
• Providing social and emotional support
• Providing the client with transport to lifestyle activities or appointments
• Helping the family carer to have a break or an opportunity to do other things.
