Job summary

Queensland Health Brisbane is seeking a Scientist Pathology Main Lab to perform a broad range of histological procedures on surgical and autopsy specimens to identify diagnostic features. You will exercise independent scientific judgement, verify test results and provide specialist advice to clinical units as required.

Essential requirements include advanced histology techniques, attention to detail, and ability to participate in continuing education.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability across histological applications from routine tissue handling to advanced stains and urgent frozen section protocols.
• High attention to detail and accuracy in histology laboratory tasks.
• Identify, develop and implement quality and service improvement activities in line with accreditation.
• Participation in continuing education and professional development.
• Ability to work and communicate effectively in a team to meet deadlines.
• Rostered working hours across department operating times.
