Job summary

Big Tree Supports in Brisbane North and Moreton Bay is seeking a Disability Support Worker to assist high-needs participants to live independently and achieve personal goals. You will provide personal care, PEG feeding, and mobility support, following a Positive Behaviour Support Plan.

Weekend and sleepover shifts may be required. A current First Aid/CPR certificate, driver’s licence, and WWCC are essential. You will work within a supportive, family-like team environment.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting participants with high needs disability.
• Experience with PEG feeding.
• Current First Aid and CPR certificate.
• Driver's licence (essential)

Responsibilities

• Support participants to achieve personal goals.
• Facilitate individual & group activities.
• Provide high needs personal care including bowel and catheter management (may involve hoisting).
• PEG feeding.
• Follow a Positive Behaviour Support Plan.
• Assist participants to take medication if required.
• Participate in hydrotherapy and other programs.
• Assist with daily tasks such as cleaning and cooking.
• Transportation to services and activities.
• Establish and maintain links to community.
• Work within person-centred practice.
