Big Tree Supports in Brisbane North and Moreton Bay is seeking a Disability Support Worker to assist high-needs participants to live independently and achieve personal goals. You will provide personal care, PEG feeding, and mobility support, following a Positive Behaviour Support Plan.
Weekend and sleepover shifts may be required. A current First Aid/CPR certificate, driver’s licence, and WWCC are essential. You will work within a supportive, family-like team environment.

As aDisability Support Worker, you will provide support for people with a disability to live independently and maintain their best possible social and physical wellbeing. You will support our participants to achieve their personal goals and to live satisfying lives in our community. You will work with our high need’s participants including at our SIL location at Wooloowin, Stafford, Everton Park, Narangba and Kallangur on the north side of Brisbane as well as other participants in the Brisbane North and Moreton Bay regions.

Supporting our participants to achieve their goals
Facilitating individual & group activities
Providing high needs personal care including bowel and catheter management, which may involve hoisting
PEG feeding
Following a Positive Behaviour Support Plan
Assisting participants to take medication if required
Participate in and support hydrotherapy and other programs
Assisting participants to complete daily tasks such as cleaning and cooking
Assistance with feeding and mealtime management including PEG feeding
Transporting participants to and from services and activities
Establishing and maintaining links to community
Working within the principles of person-centred practice
Experience in providing high level support and personal care to participants in a SIL environment.
Experience with PEG feeding
Experience in providing support to participants with behaviours of concern and following a Positive Behaviour Support Plan.
Genuine desire to provide the best quality care for people with a disability.
Ability to work in a team and individually.
Ability to build rapport with a diverse range of participants and their families.

Flexible and reliable
Current open QLD driver's licence (essential)
Working with Children Blue Card or application to obtain (essential)
NDIS Worker Screen Yellow Card or application to obtain (essential)
Current First Aid and CPR certificate (essential)
Cert III in Individual Support or willing to obtain (desired)
