Job summary

Next Reach Services is recruiting Disability Support Workers across multiple locations in Logan, Northern Gold Coast, Waterford, Camira, Gleneagle, Brisbane North and surrounding areas, with opportunities developing across Brisbane and South-East Queensland.

We support participants with a variety of goals and needs, from daily living and independence to community participation, transport, and employment-related support.

Job description

Next Reach Services is recruiting Disability Support Workers to join our team across multiple locations in Logan, Northern Gold Coast, Waterford, Camira, Gleneagle, Brisbane North and surrounding areas, with additional opportunities developing across Brisbane and South-East Queensland.

Our participants have different goals, personalities and support needs. Depending on the participant, supports may include community access and social participation, assistance with daily living and developing independence, transport and attending appointments, building confidence and life skills, employment-related support, supporting routines and individual goals, working with participants with autism and complex support needs, supporting non-speaking participants and different communication needs, following Positive Behaviour Support Plans (PBSPs), and supporting participants who may display behaviours of concern. Some positions involve active community-based support, so applicants must be comfortable being out in the community and adapting their support to the individual participant.

About you

• Reliable, respectful, patient and able to communicate well
• Comfortable following individual support plans and maintaining professional boundaries while building genuine working relationships with participants
• Able to encourage independence rather than simply doing everything for the participant
• Respectful and inclusive of people from different backgrounds, identities and communities
• NDIS Worker Screening Clearance
• Blue Card where the role involves supporting children
• Current First Aid and CPR
• Driver licence and reliable transport where driving/travel is an inherent requirement of the allocated support
• Experience in disability or community services is highly regarded; experience with autism, complex support needs, non-speaking participants and Positive Behaviour Support Plans will be valuable for some positions
