Job summary

Canterbury Girls’ Secondary College seeks qualified classroom teachers to deliver engaging learning programs across Years 7–12. The role focuses on planning, preparation and delivery of programs aligned to the curriculum to achieve targeted student outcomes.

Qualifications

• SC1: Demonstrated knowledge of the relevant curriculum and ability to teach literacy and numeracy; respond to learning needs.
• SC2: Experience planning and implementing high impact teaching strategies and evaluating impact.
• SC3: Experience monitoring and assessing learning; use data to inform practice and provide feedback.
• SC4: Strong interpersonal and communication skills; build collaborative relationships with students, parents, colleagues, and community.
• SC5: Alignment with Department values; engage in professional learning to improve teaching quality.

Responsibilities

• Direct teaching of groups of students and individual students.
• Contribute to development, implementation and evaluation of curriculum programs.
• Undertake other classroom teaching related and organisational duties as required by the Principal.
• Participate in parent/teacher meetings, staff meetings, camps and excursions.
• Undertake other non-teaching supervisory duties.
