Job summary

Canterbury Girls’ Secondary College in Melbourne's eastern suburbs seeks a qualified classroom teacher to plan, prepare and deliver programs that achieve targeted student outcomes. You will engage in critical reflection to improve teaching and contribute to school priorities.

The role involves using data to inform instruction, collaborating with staff, and supporting student wellbeing and engagement. Mentoring student teachers and contributing to policy and school activities are expected.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated knowledge of the curriculum and literacy/numeracy teaching.
• Experience planning high-impact teaching strategies and evaluating impact.
• Experience monitoring and assessing learning using data, with feedback to students/parents.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for collaboration with community.
• Reflective practice and commitment to ongoing professional learning.

Responsibilities

• Direct teaching of groups and individuals aligned to student outcomes.
• Contribute to development, implementation and evaluation of curriculum programs.
• Undertake duties as determined by the School Principal and policy.
• Participate in parent/teacher meetings, staff meetings, camps and excursions.
• Undertaking other non-teaching supervisory duties.
