Job summary

Canterbury Girls Secondary College is seeking an experienced classroom teacher to deliver engaging lessons across key subject areas. You will plan, teach and assess to meet diverse student needs, while contributing to school programs and policies.

Collaboration with colleagues and ongoing professional learning are expected. The role emphasises data-informed practice, student wellbeing, and alignment with school priorities to improve learning outcomes for girls in Year 7–12.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated knowledge of the relevant curriculum and ability to teach literacy and numeracy.
• Experience planning and implementing high impact teaching strategies and evaluating their impact on student growth.
• Experience monitoring and assessing student learning and using data to inform practice with feedback to students and parents.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to collaborate with students, families, colleagues and the school community.
• Demonstrated behaviours aligned with department values and commitment to professional learning.

Responsibilities

• Direct teaching of groups and individuals to meet student outcomes.
• Contribute to curriculum development, implementation and evaluation.
• Undertake classroom duties and related organizational tasks as directed by leadership.
• Participate in parent/teacher meetings, staff meetings and school activities.
• Engage in professional learning and reflective practice to improve teaching quality.
