Job summary

Brighton Secondary College in Melbourne seeks a classroom teacher to plan, prepare and teach programs to achieve specific student outcomes, with opportunity to contribute beyond the classroom as experience grows. You will engage in reflection, use student data to inform teaching, meet diverse needs, mentor student teachers, and support school priorities in line with the Department's values.

Qualifications

• Provisional or full registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching.
• Demonstrated knowledge of curriculum and literacy/numeracy instruction.
• Experience using data to inform teaching and provide feedback to students and parents.

Responsibilities

• Direct teaching of groups of students and individual students;
• Contribute to development, implementation and evaluation of a curriculum area or other curriculum program within the school;
• Undertaking other classroom teaching related and organisational duties as determined by the School Principal;
• Participating in activities such as parent/teacher meetings; staff meetings; camps and excursions;
• Undertaking other non-teaching supervisory duties.
