Job summary

Brighton Secondary College in Victoria is seeking a capable classroom teacher to plan, prepare and deliver programs that achieve targeted student outcomes. You will engage in critical reflection and inquiry to continually improve practice and student learning.

As experience grows, you contribute to school programs beyond the classroom, including policy development and staff mentoring, while supporting diverse learners and upholding department values.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated knowledge of the relevant curriculum, including literacy and numeracy.
• Experience in planning high impact teaching strategies and evaluating learning programs.
• Experience in monitoring and assessing student learning using data to inform teaching.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills and ability to collaborate with school community.
• Behaviours and attitudes aligned with Department values; commitment to professional learning.

Responsibilities

• Direct teaching of groups and individual students.
• Contribute to development and evaluation of curriculum areas or programs.
• Undertake other duties as determined by the School Principal.
• Participate in parent/teacher meetings, staff meetings, camps and excursions.
• Undertake other non-teaching supervisory duties.
