Job summary

Australian Rail Track Corp. (ARTC) is seeking an experienced Hi-Rail Excavator Operator to support critical rail infrastructure projects across the Victorian network. You will operate specialised equipment and contribute to maintenance and civil works in a field-based team.

Ideal candidates have mobile plant experience in a rail setting, current Rail Industry Worker competencies, and a valid HR or higher licence. Willingness to travel across Victoria and work a 9/5 roster is essential.

• Operational experience with mobile plant within a railway environment.
• Current Rail Industry Worker competencies.
• Current Driver’s Licence, with HR licence or above highly regarded.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including overtime and weekend work as required.
• Willingness to travel and work away from home, approximately 70% of your time travelling throughout Victoria.
• Be able to work 9 days on and 5 days off roster.

About the Opportunity

We are seeking experienced Hi-Rail Excavator Operator to join our growing team delivering critical rail infrastructure projects across the ARTC Victorian network. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a skilled and safety-focused crew on a variety of rail maintenance and civil works projects in a dynamic field-based environment.

As a Hi-Rail Excavator Operator, you will play a key role in the delivery of maintenance and construction works across the rail corridor. Responsible for specialised plant and equipment including Hi Rail Excavators, Dump Trucks, Front-End Loaders. Work will include,

• Undercutting operations
• Formation and track upgrades

Our Team

Our Operations team works with a diverse customer base to support several nationally significant supply chains. With management responsibility spanning across five states, our 8,500km rail network is used to transport bulk products, passenger and general freight, including steel and a vast array of consumer items such as groceries, electrical goods and other items for both import and export markets. The Operations teams work within several complex and challenging environments, including some of the busiest rail corridors in Australia to deliver safe, efficient and sustainable service delivery outcomes for its customers, stakeholders and the community.
