Job summary

ARTC in Goulburn is hiring Infrastructure Maintainers (Rail Labourers) for hands-on upkeep of the rail network, including preventive and reactive maintenance and support for minor capital upgrades.

You will work outdoors as part of a safety-conscious team, performing varied tasks, from general labouring to track safety duties, inspections, and machinery operation, with training provided to build certifications and practical skills.

Qualifications

• Current Driver’s Licence is required.
• Ability to work flexible hours and travel as required.
• General Construction Induction Card (WhiteCard) required.
• Civil, rail or plant experience is preferred.
• Rail Industry Worker (RIW) competencies needed.

About the Opportunity

We’re seeking safety-focused, hardworking and motivated individuals to join our team as an Infrastructure Maintainers (Rail Labourers). You are responsible for the hands-on maintenance and upkeep of ARTC’s rail network. This includes carrying out both preventive and reactive maintenance activities, as well as supporting minor construction works associated with planned capital upgrades. In this role, you will perform a range of tasks

• General labouring
• Track maintenance and safety protection duties
• Detailed visual inspections of rail infrastructure,
• Operating heavy machinery, welding, and other specialised maintenance activities
• Adhering to ARTC’s strict safety and quality standards.

About the Team

Our Operations team works with a diverse customer base to support several nationally significant supply chains. With management responsibility spanning across five states, our 8,500km rail network is used to transport bulk products, passenger and general freight, including steel and a vast array of consumer items such as groceries, electrical goods and other items for both import and export markets. The Operations teams work within several complex and challenging environments, including some of the busiest rail corridors in Australia to deliver safe, efficient and sustainable service delivery outcomes for its customers, stakeholders and the community.
