Job summary

Transit Systems NSW – part of Kelsian Group – is seeking a skilled Heavy Vehicle Mechanic to join our dedicated team. You’ll keep buses in top condition, perform timely repairs, inspections, and handle on-road breakdowns to ensure safe passenger transport.

Ideal candidates bring proven experience as a Heavy Vehicle Diesel Mechanic, MVIRA qualification, and MR or HR license (or willingness to obtain). We offer competitive salary, ongoing professional development, and a strong work-life balance.

Your Role:

As a Heavy Vehicle Mechanic, you'll:

• Perform Timely Repairs:Ensure buses are road-ready and drivers have a reliable vehicle.
• Follow Service Schedules:Manage minor and major services and vehicle inspections.
• Conduct Fleet Inspections:Ensure our fleet meets RMS compliance and is ready for passenger use.
• Handle On-Road Breakdowns:Fix issues from damaged mirrors to brake problems.

What You Bring:

• Experience:Demonstrated work experience as a Heavy Vehicle Diesel Mechanic.
• Qualifications:Relevant trade qualifications (MVIRA).
• Licenses:MR or HR driver’s license, or willingness to obtain one.
• Safety First:Adherence to health and safety standards.
• Inspection Skills:Ability to complete pre-inspections for RMS compliance.
