Job summary

Transit Systems NSW is seeking Heavy Vehicle Diesel Mechanics for its South Granville depot to service and maintain our public buses. You will undertake repairs, follow service schedules and perform RMS-compliant fleet inspections to ensure vehicles are safe and presentable for customers and inspectors.

The role requires demonstrated diesel mechanic experience and a valid MR/HR driver’s license (or willingness to obtain).

Qualifications

• Demonstrated work experience as a Heavy Vehicle Diesel Mechanic.
• MR or HR driver’s license is required or willing to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Undertaking minor repairs on buses in a timely fashion to ensure every driver has a bus to take on the road.
• Adhere to a kilometre-based service schedule, entailing minor and major services as well as vehicle inspections.
• Carry out twice yearly fleet inspections for vehicle compliance with RMS. Inspecting vehicles ahead of registration and ensuring fleet quality is optimal for presentation to passengers and inspectors.
• Attending to on-road break downs for various faults from damaged mirrors to seized motors or brakes locked on.
