Job summary

Transit Systems NSW, part of Kelsian Group, is hiring Heavy Vehicle Mechanics at the South Granville depot. You will perform routine repairs, services, and inspections to keep buses compliant and running smoothly for passengers.

Ideal candidates have Heavy Vehicle Diesel Mechanic experience, MVIRA qualifications, and a MR/HR license or willingness to obtain one. Immediate start opportunities available within a dynamic team.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated work experience as a Heavy Vehicle Diesel Mechanic.
• Ability to adhere to safety and maintenance procedures.
• Strong diagnostic and repair skills for heavy buses and fleet.

Responsibilities

• Undertaking minor repairs on buses to keep fleet on the road.
• Follow kilometre-based service schedules and perform services/inspections.
• Carry out twice-yearly RMS fleet inspections and maintenance checks.
• Attend on-road break downs and fault repairs as required.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Transit Systems has multiple positions for Heavy Vehicle Mechanics at its South Granville depot. The principle responsibilities include:

• Undertaking minor repairs on buses in a timely fashion to ensure every driver has a bus to take on the road.
• Adhere to a kilometre-based service schedule, entailing minor and major services as well as vehicle inspections.
• Carry out twice yearly fleet inspections for vehicle compliance with RMS. Inspecting vehicles ahead of registration and ensuring fleet quality is optimal for presentation to passengers and inspectors.
• Attending to on-road break downs for various faults from damaged mirrors to seized motors or brakes locked on.

ABOUT YOU

• Demonstrated work experience as a Heavy Vehicle Diesel Mechanic
• Relevant Trade qualifications (MVIRA)
• Hold a MR or HR driver’s license or the ability and willingness to obtain one
• Adherence to relevant company policies and procedures relating to health and safety, quality assurance and other aspects of the business
• Ability to complete pre-inspection of vehicles for RMS inspection
