Job summary

CDC NSW is seeking a Heavy Vehicle Diesel Mechanic at our Terrey Hills depot to maintain and repair our bus fleet, ensuring safety and reliability, and to support occasional workshop supervision duties. The role is hands-on and may require leadership when covering shifts.

You will work across Sydney depots with opportunities for training and upskilling, including forklift and MR/HR licensing, with a competitive package and overtime possibilities.

Qualifications

• Technical skills including diagnosing and repairing heavy vehicle diesel engines.
• Experience with maintenance, servicing and repairs to ensure fleet safety and reliability.
• Strong teamwork and adaptability for relief supervisory duties.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, repair, and troubleshoot diesel engines for buses.
• Diagnose engine faults and perform regular servicing (oil changes, filters).
• Conduct complex repairs on fuel systems, turbochargers, exhausts; attend to breakdowns.
• Provide temporary workshop supervision relief during planned/unplanned leave.
• Support coordination of maintenance activities and lead workshop teams when needed.
