CDC Canberra is seeking aHeavy Vehicle Diesel Mechanic to join our Workshop team at the Queanbeyan Bus Depot, working mornings from 5am-2pm. The role entails maintenance, diagnostics, and repair to ensure a safe, reliable fleet.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification as a Heavy Vehicle Diesel Mechanic and eligible for a Tradesperson Certificate (Motor Vehicle).
• Experience working on heavy vehicles, with buses considered highly advantageous.
• Ability to work independently and within a team in a safe, controlled manner.
• HR licence, forklift ticket, or auto-electrical experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Carry out daily repair, diagnostics, and maintenance on the fleet.
• Perform preventative maintenance schedules and requirements.
• Maintain vehicle monitoring and reporting systems; use diagnostic equipment to identify issues.
• Respond to and repair vehicle defects as notified by drivers.
• Be available for breakdowns and on-road incidents as required.

CDC Canberra is seeking a skilled and experienced Heavy Vehicle Diesel Mechanic to join our Workshop team based at our Queanbeyan Bus Depot working mornings from 5am-2pm.

Reporting to the Workshop Supervisor ,this permanent, full-time position is responsible for carry out maintenance and repair services on our fleet to ensure our vehicles are safe, reliable and efficient.

Responsibilities Include:

• Undertaking daily vehicle repair, diagnostics and maintenance activities to ensure delivery of services.
• Fulfilling vehicle preventative maintenance schedules and requirements.
• Maintaining vehicle monitoring and reporting systems.Utilising diagnostic equipment and tools to identify and resolve vehicle issues accurately.
• Responding to, investigating and repairing vehicle defects as notified by drivers.
• Being available for breakdown and service callouts and on-road incidents as required from time to time.

To be successful in this role you will have:

• Trade qualification as a Heavy Vehicle Diesel Mechanic and currently hold or able to obtain a Tradesperson Certificate (Motor Vehicle) from Fair Trading
• Demonstrated experience working on heavy vehicles with experience with buses being highly regarded
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in safe and considered manner
• Demonstrated ability to work safely and in accordance with policies and procedures
• Candidate's with a HR Driver Licence or Forklift ticket or auto-electrical experience would be highly regarded.
• For the right candidate we are willing to accept a 4th year apprentice or recently trade qualified person.
