Job summary

CDC Canberra is seeking aHeavy Vehicle Diesel Mechanic to join our Workshop team at the Queanbeyan Bus Depot, working mornings from 5am-2pm. The role entails maintenance, diagnostics, and repair to ensure a safe, reliable fleet.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification as a Heavy Vehicle Diesel Mechanic and eligible for a Tradesperson Certificate (Motor Vehicle).
• Experience working on heavy vehicles, with buses considered highly advantageous.
• Ability to work independently and within a team in a safe, controlled manner.
• HR licence, forklift ticket, or auto-electrical experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Carry out daily repair, diagnostics, and maintenance on the fleet.
• Perform preventative maintenance schedules and requirements.
• Maintain vehicle monitoring and reporting systems; use diagnostic equipment to identify issues.
• Respond to and repair vehicle defects as notified by drivers.
• Be available for breakdowns and on-road incidents as required.
