Job summary

Parratech is seeking a structured Heavy Haulage Logistics Coordinator to lead OSOM permit applications, route planning, and regulatory coordination for oversized transports across Australia. You will coordinate drivers, escorts, and utility teams, ensuring compliance and timely delivery of projects.

You will interact with clients, regulators, and internal staff while maintaining high safety and compliance standards and driving efficiency across complex routes and schedules.

Position Summary:

Parratech are seeking an organized and detail-driven Heavy Haulage Logistics Coordinator to spearhead the scheduling and regulatory coordination of our oversize and over-mass (OSOM) transport operations. You will be the critical link between our clients, drivers, pilot escorts, and regulatory authorities. This role requires knowledge of heavy vehicle compliance, permit applications, and route planning to ensure every specialized movement is executed flawlessly.

Responsibilities:

• Permit Procurement: Managing the end-to-end application process for OSOM permits through the National Heavy Vehicle Regulator (NHVR) Portal.
• Route Planning: Conducting detailed route assessments and checking council restrictions to map safe paths for oversized assets.
• Third-Party Coordination: Booking and managing third-party contractors, including police escorts, pilot vehicles, and utility providers for overhead wire clearance.
• Driver Scheduling: Allocating specialized fleet assets and drivers while strictly monitoring Fatigue Management and Chain of Responsibility (CoR) compliance.
• Client Management: Providing accurate transport quotes, project timelines, and real-time transit updates to key stakeholders.
• Problem Resolution: Rapidly troubleshooting route delays, vehicle breakdowns, or permit issues to minimize operational downtime.
• Internal Stakeholder Management: Key point of contact and subject matter expert (SME) for onsite staff with regards to transport availability.

Key Skills:

• Proven track record working in heavy haulage, specialized transport, or over dimensional logistics coordination.
• Deep understanding of National Heavy Vehicle National Law (HVNL), state road authority guidelines, and OSOM permit frameworks.
• Ability to interpret maps, dimensions, and technical drawings to evaluate route feasibility.
• Exceptional multi-tasking skills to manage dozens of moving variables and tight deadlines simultaneously.
• Sharp negotiation and liaison skills to manage relationships with drivers, clients, and government authorities.
• Proficiency with transport management systems (TMS), GPS tracking software, and standard routing tools.
