Cleanaway is seeking a skilled Heavy Vehicle Mechanic for our Somersby NSW workshop. In this hands-on role, you will lead maintenance and repairs on our fleet of waste trucks and truck bodies to ensure safety and efficiency.

Responsibilities include diagnostics, scheduled servicing, and accurate record-keeping, with a focus on safety. The role offers an afternoon shift Mon-Fri and competitive hourly pay with shift loading and allowances.

Formación

• Trade qualification as a Heavy Vehicle Mechanic / Diesel Fitter (Cert III or equivalent).
• HR licence is advantageous.
• Strong understanding of hydraulics and electrics.
• Experience with fleet maintenance and running repairs.
• Commitment to safety, teamwork and continuous improvement.

• Perform maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on a wide range of heavy vehicles.
• Conduct scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance to ensure fleet safety and compliance.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical faults.
• Maintain accurate service records using fleet management systems.
• Support workshop safety and cleanliness in line with WHS policies.
• Carry out basic welding and grinding work as required.

The Opportunity

We’re looking for a skilled and experienced Heavy Vehicle Mechanic to join our team at our Somersby NSW workshop. In this hands‑on role, you will take the lead in maintaining and repairing our fleet of waste trucks and truck bodies, ensuring everything runs safely and efficiently.

• Perform maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on a wide range of heavy vehicles

• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical faults

About you
