Cleanaway is seeking a skilled Heavy Diesel Mechanic to join our Somersby NSW workshop on a permanent full-time basis. You will lead maintenance and repairs for a fleet of waste trucks, ensuring safety and efficiency.

In this hands-on role, you will perform diagnostics, preventative maintenance, and fault diagnosis across hydraulic and electrical systems, maintaining thorough service records while upholding WHS standards.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification as a Heavy Vehicle Mechanic / Diesel Fitter (Cert III or equivalent).
• HR licence (advantageous).
• Strong understanding of hydraulics and electrics.
• Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical issues efficiently and cost-effectively.
• Experience with fleet maintenance and running repairs.
• Commitment to safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

Responsabilités

• Perform maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on a wide range of heavy vehicles.
• Conduct scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance to ensure fleet safety and compliance.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical faults.
• Maintain accurate service records using fleet management systems.
• Support workshop safety and cleanliness in line with WHS policies.
• Carry out basic welding and grinding work as required.
